Kingston Riverside is a luxury riverside residential development in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. Presiding over the River Thames, the striking scheme comprises 210 one, two and three bedroom private residences. The development is arranged over two towers of 10 and 15 storeys linked by a 6-storey block. The scheme also provides a basement car park and private communal gardens at ground and roof level. RPS provided Cost Consultancy, Employer’s Agent and Principal Designer services to support the development.
To overcome one of the principal logistical challenges, RPS was able to negotiate with developers to allow their possession of the site for construction of the adjoining primary substation enclosure, a condition of the purchase of the site. In tandem, RPS structured the main contract to reflect a phased site possession arrangement to minimise delays to delivery of first-phase apartments.
Through the design development, procurement process and construction stage, RPS enhanced value by:

Driving optimisation of the planning consented scheme that substantially enhanced the net floor area.
Throughout the project’s lifespan, RPS coordinated with the main contractor, design consultants and client in-house specialists to deliver a first-of-its-kind product within quality, budgetary and time constraints of the brief.
