We facilitate numerous types of hazard Identification studies and are able to advise clients on the most appropriate techniques for use, including:

Checklist / walkdowns

Concept Hazard Analysis (CHA)

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA / FMECA)

Functional Safety Requirements

Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Study

Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPs)

‘What If?’ Analysis

Our techniques are aligned with recognised codes and standards as well as accepted best practice.

Risk Assessment / Analysis

Employers have a legal duty to carry out an assessment of the risks resulting from work activities to the health and safety of employees and others, such as, the public, volunteers, and external contractors visiting the premises. All risks associated with the workplace must then be controlled.

Our team at RPS have significant experience of carrying out all aspects of the Risk Assessment process; from initial hazard identification to demonstrating that the risks associated with identified hazards are controlled to a level considered As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP). Potential hazards include:

Conventional

Operational

Chemotoxic

Environmental

Fire

Explosive Atmospheres

Decommissioning

Construction and Demolition

Explosive Atmospheres

RPS provides a wide range of services for the effective management of Major Accident Hazards including those associated with fire and explosion hazards. The formation of potentially explosive atmospheres in the workplace can be caused by using, storing or generating flammable / explosive gases, mists, vapours or combustible dusts. The potential consequences of igniting explosive atmospheres include loss of life or serious injury, equipment / plant damage, significant financial losses and loss of reputation.

RPS personnel work with clients in numerous industry sectors to provide a highly reputable and comprehensive range of ATEX / DSEAR services that are tailored to meet our clients' individual needs.
