Duncan has over thirty-two years’ experience as a professional Field Archaeologist, Archaeological and Built Heritage Consultant, successfully completing over 3000 projects in England, Scotland and Wales. Duncan specialises in organising archaeological and built heritage mitigation strategies for large scale strategic projects and for complex sites with significant archaeological and heritage constraints. He regularly publishes on archaeological and heritage issues.

Matthew Smith

Matthew has twenty years’ experience as a field archaeologist, archaeological consultant and heritage professional throughout the UK. Matthew specialises in providing archaeological and heritage support for commercial large scale developments and works for the majority of volume housebuilders and developers nationwide. He has extensive experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams on projects ranging from city centre regeneration projects to the whole-scale development of rural and brown field sites. Matthew is the Regional Director for London.

Simon Mortimer

Simon leads the archaeology team in the Newark, Manchester and Edinburgh offices. He has over 20 years’ commercial archaeological experience, specialising in advice to house-building and commercial distribution teams. With a broad technical knowledge and understanding of archaeology and the planning system he negotiates robustly with Local Planning Authorities and Historic England to represent his clients’ commercial interests.
