Leisure, Tourism and Attractions Planning

Over the past two decades RPS has emerged as a leading player in the provision of planning advice to developers and operators of visitor attractions, commercial leisure, hotels and holiday parks. We act on behalf of a number of the most famous visitor attractions and commercial leisure developments in the UK.

In recent years there has been significant growth in various sub-sectors, notably farm parks, and RPS has advised on both the expansion of existing sites and the development of new sites. Another dynamic area of growth is the rapid expansion in new types of holiday parks, from timber lodges and camping pods to yurts and themed tents. A large proportion of holiday lodge developments can be brought forward using caravan legislation; a highly specialised area of planning.

RPS also has significant expertise in commercial leisure developments, which include multiplex cinemas, bowling, indoor play, casinos, hotels and restaurants. These applications can be complex, especially when flexibility is needed as tenants may not all be on board.
