RPS achieves Australian-first accreditation from Social Value International
Members of RPS’ Social Value team have achieved Level 1: Social Value Associate accreditation from Social Value International, becoming the first Australian consultancy team to gain full accreditation under The Social Impact Measurement Network Australia (SIMNA) as the Australian certification body.
Social Value International is a global network committed to changing the way social value is defined, measured, and accounted for. Through standards, guidance and training, it’s improving social value practice across business, government and social enterprise, alike. RPS became a member of Social Value International (SVI) along with the Social Impact Measurement Network of Australia in January 2024.
With one of Australia’s largest consultant teams devoted to social value, helping clients to define, capture, implement and measure social value across the project lifecycle is nothing new for RPS.
“From mega energy transformation projects to community benefits schemes that go above and beyond legislative requirements, our people are passionate about helping clients to create a social value legacy from their projects and investments," said RPS Executive General Manager – Insights, Communications and Creative, Alistair Kingston.
"Different projects have different goals. Social value could mean generating local employment opportunities, investing in education, health or wellbeing programs, developing community infrastructure, or providing opportunities for participation by First Nations people. Ideally, it's lots of these things at once.
"No matter the social value objective, RPS is here to help identify those opportunities and bring them to life. And with supporting clients to capture social value outcomes so second nature, it was a natural step for the team to pursue SVI accreditation.
"Having every member of our social value practice gain it isn’t just proof of our belief in social value theory, it’s an endorsement of our ability to make social benefits real for the clients and communities we work with.”
Social Value International Executive Officer, Laura Glynn applauded RPS’ commitment to social value, saying:
“It's great to see RPS’ social value team achieve this Australian-first milestone - becoming the first consultancy team to have every team member complete the level 1 accreditation since SIMNA became an assurance centre in Australia. It's a fantastic way to ensure the key principles of social value continue to be embedded across RPS projects.”
