RPS wins key role on £8.7bn Highways England Framework
Highways England has announced the successful contractors who have secured a place on the delivery of their Regional Delivery Partnership (‘RDP’) Framework which is worth an estimated £8.7 billion. Our client, Kier Highways, has won a place on the North Region Lot 8.
As part of Kier’s professional service alliance team, RPS will provide engineering design, transportation, safety, consenting, environmental and other professional services, working alongside Kier Design Services and Tony Gee. Kier’s innovative professional services alliance delivery model draws on the strengths of this collaborative group and is a new approach for Highways England.
Contractors on the RDP Framework will be responsible for the consenting, design and construction of new motorways and trunk roads, delivering junction improvements and road widening schemes. The RDP Framework replaces the previous Highways England Collaborative Delivery Framework. In this new partnership, Kier will be delivering Schemes worth over £100m.
RPS’ success on the RDP framework further reinforces our position in the highways sector and follows our recent experience and successful delivery of major international highways contracts such as the N6 Galway to Ballinasloe in Ireland, M4 Corridor around Newport, A465 Heads of the Valley projects in South Wales, the M8/M73/M74 Network Improvements and the A9 Kincraig to Dalraddy dualling in Scotland.
Commenting on the win, Christy O’Sullivan, Director - Highways and Transportation Sector, RPS said: “We are looking forward to bringing our highway knowledge from other parts of the UK and Ireland to benefit Highways England and the successful delivery of this project. This appointment acknowledges our growth and capability within the highways sector.”
Andy Clifton, Managing Director - Environment and Infrastructure, RPS added: “We are delighted with this outcome as our team has worked hard over the past six months supporting Kier and their team. We are looking forward to working with Kier and our design partners on what should be a challenging but rewarding six-year journey.”
