Strengthening our capability in conventional safety
Ensuring the safety of workers is a legal requirement for all employers, which can prove challenging whilst balancing financial and strategic considerations. By providing expert conventional safety advice in a pragmatic way, we strive to provide effective solutions for our clients.
To strengthen our service offering in conventional safety, we’re delighted to welcome Paul Roberts to our risk management team as a Principal Consultant.
Paul brings over 10 years’ experience of providing support to highly regulated, high-hazard industries. His specialties span conventional site safety, conventional health and safety in design, CDM advice, auditing and site inspections, and general health and safety support.
Having started his career in the nuclear industry ensuring safety compliance during construction and decommissioning works, Paul harnessed his knowledge of improving the design process and progressed into Principal Designer and CDM Advisor roles. This led to roles in nuclear projects, particularly at Sellafield and Trawsfynydd and more recently on Environment Agency and HS2 Rail projects.
Paul comments: “I am really pleased to have recently joined RPS as a Conventional Health and Safety Specialist and I am looking forward to providing health and safety support to new clients and other parts of the company.”
Paul’s appointment broadens our risk management service offering to include:
- Conventional Safety Advisor
- CDM Advisor
- Principal Designer
- Conventional Safety Support / Chair for HAZCON’s / Constructability Reviews
- Site inspections
- Key documentation reviews (construction phase plans, RAMS)
- Fire safety
- Accident investigation
Olly Horton, Technical Director – Risk, adds: “We are delighted to welcome Paul to the Risk Team at Warrington. His conventional safety skills and experience make us a one-stop-shop for our clients safety support requirements, complementing the wide range of other services we can already provide.”
