The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organisation (CAMPO) coordinates regional transportation planning in the Austin, Texas area within North America, and serves communities across several counties and cities. Part of the organisation’s role is to produce a 20+ year Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP).
CAMPO needed a project management solution that would enable the organisation to efficiently oversee and coordinate projects that play a pivotal role in the transportation infrastructure of Austin, and its surrounding regions.
To streamline project tracking processes for sponsors across Austin, CAMPO implemented the project management software solution, myProjects. In CAMPO's ecosystem, myProjects holds a central role by seamlessly integrating with established protocols and workflows. This integration fosters a collaborative framework that lays the groundwork for efficient project management, ensuring alignment with the Texas Department of Transport (TxDOT's) rigorous standards of compliance and procedural integrity.
This extends throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial project initiation and approvals to the meticulous tracking of project phases and milestones. It also encompasses proactive risk mitigation strategies and a commitment to transparency.
True to our ethos of making complex easy, the RPS Project and Program Management team set out to streamline CAMPO’s project tracking processes by introducing automation to certain tasks.
Using myProjects, a robust and customisable project management tool, RPS created a bespoke solution which was a single point of entry for all CAMPO project-related data. The consolidation of information eliminated data duplication, minimised the risk of inconsistencies, and facilitated easier data validation.
With tailor-made features and functionalities, myProjects has enabled CAMPO to gather valuable insights on projects, including progress updates, financial information, and overall performance.
The switch to myProjects ensured that CAMPO sponsors had a reliable and up-to-date source of information, which contributed to improved governance and streamlined project management.
