Solution
At the onset of the project, we provided a review of the existing information forming Gripple’s initial carbon footprint, including Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions attributed to their activities. We conducted this review to provide a level of assurance regarding the accuracy of the data, allowing Gripple to reach a position to set targets and a supporting road map to NZC.
We provided an initial high-level identification exercise of emissions reductions opportunities, including analysis of potential constraints and opportunities for Gripple, allowing them to identify, quantify and implement opportunities across their business.
Drawing on our previous findings, we prepared a bespoke Net Zero Road Map which detailed the reduction optioneering and suitable net zero target. We also presented appropriate recommendations to form Gripple’s Net Zero Strategy.
We continue to provide ongoing support to Gripple in GHG reporting and guiding their progress towards the NZC target. In 2022, this included a review of the quality of Gripple’s annual emissions reporting, assessment of their progress towards their targets, including comparison to their peer groups and relevant sector guidance regarding decarbonisation, and preparation of their first taskforce for climate related financial disclosure (TCFD) aligned reporting.
We are currently exploring further opportunities to support Gripple, including undertaking detailed scenario analysis to model and mitigate transitional and physical risks and opportunities from climate change, as well as certification of their carbon neutral progress in line with PAS 2060.
