Utilising SoLow for leakage reduction
Leveraging innovation for sustainable water management
Approximately one-fifth of water flowing through pipelines is lost to leakage, posing a significant challenge to water companies, particularly in the face of population growth and climate change. Tackling leakage emerges as a crucial strategy for ensuring a secure water supply in the future.
Revolutionising leakage management
Enter SoLow, our “Strategic Optimisation of Leakage Options for WRMP modelling” tool. SoLow not only models but also optimises long-term leakage reduction options, leveraging catchment data to identify high-impact, cost-effective solutions. By combining traditional and emerging technologies, SoLow enhances operational performance to achieve ambitious leakage reduction targets.

Driving efficiency through innovation
SoLow has played a pivotal role in producing Water Resource Management Plans (WRMP) and estimating Sustainable Economic Level of Leakage (SELL) for numerous clients during AMP7. Notably, it operates at a rate 1,000 times faster than previous methods, signifying a significant leap in efficiency and effectiveness.
Looking ahead, we are integrating machine learning and artificial intelligence models into SoLow to deliver even faster and smarter solutions for tackling the leakage challenge.
